Citroën C1 (next generation) – 2012 Review Release and Specifications
The next generation of the French city car, which we have reconstructed the appearance, continue to be developed in collaboration with Peugeot and Toyota. But will grow by six inches and will look much more “masculine” of the current. Likely to debut in Geneva in spring 2012, and sales a few months later.
Launched in 2005, the Citroën C1 should receive well-earned retirement next year. But his successor, which we have reconstructed the appearance on the basis of the indiscretions gathered, it should abandon its soft and a little ‘shabby that characterize the current version. On the contrary, we speak of a truly personal style, made of folds, “digs” in the sides and highly processed items (such as headlights and taillights). The result? A city car almost sporty lines, but always offered with three-and five-door body. This should take the rear door handles “invisible” to make the car look like a small coupe. For the length of the tom-toms for certain indiscretions gives an increase of six inches, up to touch the 360.
Not everything, however, will be revolutionized. For example, the new Citroën C1 meet again the large glass rear window (which also serves as a door) makes the interior bright and it is also cheaper to produce than metal. Moreover, the car (on the market in mid 2012 after the presentation at the Geneva Motor Show) will be developed even in collaboration with Peugeot and Toyota, as well as produced at the TPCA (Toyota Peugeot Citroen Automobile) in Kolin, Czech Republic-done for the three “twins” (C1, Aygo and 107), has been active since 2005 and “churning” 300,000 cars per year.
A Citroën C1 will provide the next move of small gasoline engines and diesel engines. The most interesting will be the first: in addition to a 1.0 from about 75 hp, should begin a three-cylinder 1.2 turbo gasoline direct injection, capable of over 100 horses, then even in naturally aspirated form. The “fond” of diesel fuel, however, should be able to count on a revised version of the 1.4 HDi (from about 70 hp). The study is also a variation in electric traction.
